Herbert Dale “Herbie” Witte, 80, of Aurora, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. He was born Tuesday, June 18, 1929, in Aurora, son of the late Orris Witte and the late Tillie Cofield Witte. Mr. Witte served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Church of Christ, Aurora. He worked at Fernald for several years and later retired as a Truck Driver for Seagrams Distillery after over 20 years of service. Surviving are his Sister, Velma Jean Witte of Aurora; several Cousins and many coffee friends from McDonald’s, Burger King and Aurora Country Kitchen. Friends will be received 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora. Services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation with Pastor Charlie Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Aurora. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of the local Veterans Service Organization. Contributions may be made to the Aurora Life Squad of the local Veterans Color Guard Unit (please make checks to KWVA).
