LAWRENCEBURG - Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., led all 50 laps of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature race Friday at Lawrenceburg Speedway. In a furious late-race charge, Brian Birkhofer, of Muscatine, Iowa, and Jimmy Owens,of Newport, Tenn., closed to within striking distance of McDowell, but could not overtake the leader. The win netted $10,000 for McDowell in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned event. It was his first series win of the 2010 LOLMDS season. Trailing the top trio to the finish line were |
