Funeral services for Clifford J. Luers, 83, Lawrenceburg, were held Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church-Bellaire with burial in St. John’s Lutheran Church-Bellaire Cemetery, Lawrenceburg.
Mr. Luers died Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Lawrenceburg. He was a member of VFW, Aurora America Legion, Lawrenceburg Eagles, St. John’s Lutheran Church and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Luers; three brothers, Wilbur Luers, Gilbert Luers and Ray Luers, and a sister, Ruth Narwald.
Memorials may be made to the Aurora American Legion.

Funeral services for Russell O. Thornton, 87, Lawrenceburg, were held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg, with burial in Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles. Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Greendale, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thornton died Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Lawrenceburg. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Funeral services for Virgil Vincent Baker, 82, Rising Sun, were held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, with burial in Rising Sun New Cemetery.
Mr. Baker died Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. He owned B & W Food Mart in Rising Sun and also worked for Fisher Body, Hamilton. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Baker; a son, Larry Baker, Cincinnati; a daughter, Janice Roeder, Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Graveside services for Stella Mae Riley, 91, Guilford, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Mapleview Cemetery, Marion, Ky. Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Greendale, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Riley died Thursday, Sept. 24, at her home.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Riley, Bobby Riley and Everet Gerald Riley; four daughters, Barbara Marsee, Carol Workman, Phyllis Swango and Sandra Jordon; a sister, Etta Hillyard; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Dearborn County Hospice.
